Grendar is a male dwarf and former adventurer that is currently the Guard Captain of the village of Ebendorf. He is the adoptive father of Chloe Rowen and a former group member of the adventuring group The Valiant Vanguard.

Backstory

Grendar Ironkith, a dwarf of legendary stature and unwavering loyalty, was born into a noble clan of skilled warriors and smiths in the ancient halls of Drak'Karaz. From a young age, he displayed an unmatched determination to protect the innocent and vanquish the wicked that threatened the safety of his people and the realm. With his broad shoulders, thick, braided beard, and fiery eyes, he earned the respect and admiration of his kin, becoming a symbol of strength and resilience.

In 2159 Grendar became part of The Valiant Vanguard, a diverse group of adventurers, had been commissioned by the King to seek out and destroy a nefarious cult that threatened the kingdom. Among the members of this group was Grendar's dear friend, Arion Fireweave, a charismatic human wizard, whose powerful magic was only rivaled by his kind and noble heart. When Arion died, Grendar made a solemn vow in front of a dying Arion to protect his daughter, Chloe, with his life. He swore to continue Arion's legacy, guiding and safeguarding her on her journey to becoming a powerful wizard and protector of their people.

Guard Captain of Ebendorf

After years of gallant adventuring alongside Chloe, Grendar Ironkith felt the weight of time and the need for a peaceful life settle upon his broad shoulders. The battles and conquests that once filled him with adrenaline now reminded him of the fleeting nature of life. With his dwarf heart yearning for stability, he decided to retire from the adventurous lifestyle and find solace in a tranquil village named Ebendorf.

Ebendorf was a close-knit community nestled in the Dragonfall plains, where the sun painted picturesque landscapes over the rolling hills, the endless plains and the sound of laughter echoed through the streets. The villagers welcomed Grendar with open arms, knowing his reputation as "The Protector" and the countless lives he had saved during his days as an adventurer. They offered him the position of Guard Captain, a role he gracefully accepted.
